FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HERRINGTON’S ANNOUNCES THE EXPANSION OF THEIR ENGINEERED
WOOD BUSINESS Company Acquires New Products to Enhance Productivity for
Professional Builders
Hillsdale, NY, Friday, September 20, 2005 – Ed
Herrington, owner of Herrington’s lumber, millwork, and
building supply stores here in the tri-state area, announced today
that Herrington’s was expanding their engineered wood business
with the acquisition at their Route 23, Hillsdale, New York location
of an Original Saw Company 20-inch Radial Arm Saw, a 4
Way Princeton PiggyBack® Delivery System, and an International
9900 Series Nu-Van tractor trailer with a 45 ft. bed. “We’re very excited about the expansion of our engineered
wood business,” said Ed Herrington. “The new equipment,
together with the design expertise of our estimating department,
now enables us to cut, design, and deliver in-house – making
it more cost-effective and productive to our builders.” Gerry Michney, estimating manager at Herrington’s, and
his estimators Vinny Florio and Brian Pedersen have extensive
training in advanced floor design. Additionally, Pedersen and
Floria recently completed WOOD-E®-CAD software training in
Wilmington, NC with Louisiana-Pacific Company (LP). “The
WOOD-E®-CAD software provides engineered floor plans to contractors
with notes, measurements, and details on construction of the floor
plan,” said Michney. “Now that we design, cut, and
deliver -- we sweat the details and our contractors appreciate
that.” “The design team and the accuracy of the new saw will make
it possible for me to save time and materials on the job,” said
Rich Alamillo, of A & D Construction, in Kinderhook, New York. “I’ve
partnered with Herrington’s for many years for my professional
building supplies, and their (Herrington’s) drive for quality
and service is certainly reflected in the quality of the product
that I offer to my clients. I now can offer engineered wood products
delivered to almost any site, on-time, and for a much better price
thanks to Herrington’s.” The new Original Saw Company 20 inch radial arm saw
features a unique all cast iron construction. The cast iron construction
and large powerful motor allow the machine to cut very large heavy
material smoothly and accurately. It is designed to produce the
best possible results of blade economy, maximum cutting speed,
and improvement in finish. The 4 Way Princeton PiggyBack® Delivery System,
better known at Herrington’s as the new forklift, fits nicely
onto the back of the new tractor trailer. One of the most stable
and powerful units of its kind in the industry, with a flip of
the switch the forklift turns into a rough-terrain side loader,
giving more access to narrower driveways and more difficult sites.
Between the forklift and the tractor-trailer, Herrington’s
has the ability to deliver lumber or other long materials, faster
and safer, to nearly any job site. Richard Herrington, Pro Sales Mgr./Lakeville Location Mgr., and
Carl Baird, Yard Worker, both have over 15 years with Herrington’s,
and together with Michney they’ll be spearheading the engineered
wood business that Herrington’s anticipates will grow rapidly.
Carl will be handling most of the cutting, Richard will continue
to coordinate the sales for the Pro-builder, and Gerry will manage
design. At Herrington’s partnerships are fostered with
individuals, architects, general contractors, mason contractors,
and landscapers to provide the best product and service -- on-time,
on budget, and delivered directly to the job site. And, Herrington’s
delivery service is still free to customers in their service area.
The experienced team at Herrington’s, coupled with the quality
of service, is what makes Herrington’s so unique in this
day of big box warehouse stores. Herrington’s is open weekdays from 7 am to 5 pm
and Saturdays from 7 am to 4 pm. For more information check-out
